OUR MISSION

When a student experiences what is known as Educational Displacement, they may experience feelings of isolation, othering, or even invisibility in the classroom and school environment. Project Belonging empowers students to become leaders who can build connected, resilient communities that protect against Educational Displacement.

PROJECT BELONGING

Youth in U.S. schools are well-positioned to prevent hate and violence, build strong social connections, and nurture a culture of acceptance. By fostering peer-to-peer collaboration, utilizing community assets, providing $1,000 stipends to teams, and leveraging the impact of storytelling, Project Belonging will support student-led projects that uplift their unique power to connect with their school or local community and make an impact. Learn more in our summary here.
